Subjects Inexhaustible

December 19, 2009 in drawing

In recent months I have spent more time working with models in the studio; engaging, studying and dealing with my own responses to them that I have found life drawing the most vital way to ground me and assist with confronting other challenges I have encountered.

It's not unusual to find yourself up against a wall of your own making, accosted  by your own doubts and anxiety.

I wanted to share with you some samples of studies that continue to resonate with me long after the model has left the studio. Some of them might evolve into paintings..regardless, if you've neglected engaging with the energy that can be realised through drawing, I hope this is a gentle reminder.
